“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” Maya Angelou.

My Three Passions

Teaching
I have been teaching since 1995 in the Computer Information Systems field, in which I have been professionally involved since 1975. It is not the subject matter but the students who matter in teaching. After so many years, I have seen many former students succeed in their chosen fields. I actually learn a lot from my own students about our field and their lives.

Travel
Traveling extensively in Europe and the US showed me how much we have in common with everyone around the world. Now I have been trying to see as many islands in the Philippines, my birth country. I have snorkeled to see its brilliant corals and tropical fishes and intend to get my diving certification. I love the outdoors and have backpacked the Sierra Nevadas and fished its lakes.

Tango
Before 2009 I felt I had two left feet but since then I discovered that I can dance.  I only dance Argentine Tango because of the spontaneous passionate connection between a man and woman while dancing it. I love many music genres and I occasionally DJ for traditional and alternative/nuevo tango milongas as a hobby.

My three passions of teaching, traveling and tango provide me with a balanced and fulfilled life.
