Development
- Visit the NYU Child Study Center’s website. Read the following article: http://www.aboutourkids.org/articles/parenting_styleschildren039s_temperaments_match. Decide what kind of parent you wish to be? What kind of parenting did you have? What was most effective about their parenting style? What was the least of effective? Will you use the same kind of parenting style when you have children of your own? Why or why not? If you do not choose to have children, you may have to discuss this with someone who has children.
- Visit http://www.radiodiaries.org/teenagediaries.html. Choose a story to read or listen to. Then compare the diary to the information presented in the text about adolescence. What aspects of the adolescence does the teenager illustrate? Be sure to cover at least three. For each aspect you discuss, compare this teenager’s life to your own.
- Write your obituary (read other obituaries and use your text to get ideas). Include date of death, surviving relatives, cause of death, accomplishments, and words of wisdom. Describe the “good death”. Go to http://www.deathclock.com/
