Extra Credit

For each of the extra credit assignments please type up a 1-2 page reflection.  This reflection should be double spaced. All extra credit is due by the final exam. You may turn in extra credit early.

 

1. 20 points: Evening with Forensics, Tues, March 25, 7:00-8:30pm, Bldg 13-1700. Come watch performances by the Mt. SAC Forensics Team before they head to the Phi Rho Pi National Championships! Please write a reflection of the speakers and performances - both positives and critiques.

2. 20 points: Lyceum Revisited: The Humanities & Social Sciences Division presents Dr. Yeap Ban Har, to discuss "Increasing student success through critical thinking, Using collaboration and problem solving to learn concepts at a deeper more meaningful level, and Developing effective questioning techniques." Please write a reflection on both the delivery and material presented.  Thursday, April 17, 2014, 1:15 – 2:30 p.m. Design Technology Center Bldg. 13-1700

 

3. 20 points: Outline Workshop: The Speech & Sign Success Center (SSSC) is having an outline workshop on Thursday, April 17 from 3:30-4:30pm in 26D-2220.  Please bring in a copy of your most recent outline to get feedback. 

4.20 points: Evening with Readers Theater, Tues, April 29, 7:00-8:30pm, Bldg 13-1700. Come watch performances by the Mt. SAC Forensics Team before they head to the Readers Theater National Championships! Please write a reflection of the speakers and performances - both positives and critiques.

5. 20 points: Watch either the Honors Speech Contest (6 speeches) or the Black History Month Speech Performances (6 speeches) available at the SSSC.  Please rank each speaker and provide a rational for why the speaker received the rank they did. The SSSC should have a worksheet available.
