Geography 2H: Honors Human Geography
Course Description
Geography is an exciting discipline with ties to many other areas of study. Human Geography is concerned with the fundamental relationship between humans and their environment. This course emphasizes the interconnectedness of place and process--the relationship between location and the cultural, social, and economic processes occurring there. In addition to critical inquiry, basic literacy in the geography of place names and in world regional understanding will be emphasized.
As an Honors level course, emphasis is placed on developing skills of critical analysis and synthesis of theory and practice. Students are expected to be reading and writing at a college level and will engage in analysis and critique of current research in the field of geography.
