Geography 5: World Regional Geography
The canals of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Course Description
World Regional Geography is an introduction to how the discipline of geography makes sense of the world, its different people, places, and regions. What geographers focus on are the ways in which people and places interact across space and time to produce particular outcomes, in otherwords, what makes each place on the globe unique and what makes places around the world similar. We live in an era of greatly accelerated global interaction and dependency. How do we make sense of the local and global impacts and origins of political and economic ideologies, the movement of people, the movement of goods and services and environmental challenges around the globe?
